Meet me at sunset

entry picture

'Choose to love yourself '

Were the words of the shaman

As he basked in the glow of sunrise

The zen monkey and the lotus flower

By his side

5 nights ago when he found her

She was close to death

Drowning in the silent waters

Of a lifetime of tears

In that between never

And forever place

One lost soul

Searching out her

Puppet master

In the great circle of existence

She had been it all

From the mother

To the other wife

A sleepwalker

In the game of life

'Calm the mind

and the body will

Follow ' whispered the shaman

Meet me at sunset

I like the correlation between the fine line the Shaman walks, the fine line between light and darkness at sunset and the fine line between wakefulness and the dreamworld of sleep that the sleepwalker traverses in life.
There is much to think about in this excellent poem, Ruth.
