Tina and the Big Lie

Tina believed the Big Lie
Now Tina’s gonna have to let time go by
Tina broke into the voting machine
To try to prove that Donald’s hands were clean
But Donald’s hands are dirty as hell
Now Tina’s hands are dirty as well
And Tina’s gonna have to let time go by
‘Cause Tina believed the Big Lie

Excellent poem, Steve. History has shown repeatedly that a person's mental illness allows them unequivocally to believe their own views as the absolute truth. The power of the psychotic conviction feels like truth. It draws certain people to them like moths to a flame. As history has revealed the outcomes in these cases are horrifically devastating.

Thanks Steve.
Speaking of “The Big Lie”, we in the UK made a film with that title; but we’re far more gentlemanly about such things…one doesn’t go tampering with machines and stuff; one simply ensures that the entire news media, on paper and screen, are in on the act.
That way, the UK electorate don't get to see “The Big Lie”, venues being boycotted on the grounds of trumped-up accusations (now proven to be such) of anti-semitism.
Day one: mainstream news interviewer to politiician: “are you his friend?”; “Oh yes, of course I am!”.
Day two: mainstream news interviewer to politician: “are you his friend?”; “Oh no, don’t be silly!”.

Thanks Stephen.

She seemed pretty unrepentant in some of the news reports I read. Nonetheless, I did have a go at reframing the story as a love song: https://youtu.be/-Y_k1fMiG_8

Well put, Steve. In a way, it's sad, though. As you imply, people like this are the gullible foot soldiers of Trump's Big Lie and are (quite rightly) put in prison. But how much time will DT spend behind bars? A nice round figure, I guess.
Good poem on an issue which I fear will see a new lease of life when Trump loses again in November.
