The tree part 1

Two souls underneath a brolly

At the corner of a park after dark

Business as usual transacted

She wants to find another

The rain pours in cobweb sheets

He wants to say

Do you want a cuppa

But is sure she will say no

Last chance gone

As it stops, she steps away

Into the night

Trying to avoid the congregation of puddles

Leaving him with same time Sunday

He stands for a moment watching her

Watching the street lights in the ponds

Of collected water

He moves away from the tree

Their tree in the afterglow

Of another night of halting pleasure

Down to the underpass

Enjoying the echo of his shoes

In the spray-painted cavern

And on to the Chester Road

Sixteen floors up to his one bed flat

Still smelling her perfume

Wishing he had told her she is amazing

She is perfect

Even though it cost him twenty quid

◄ Oblivious

Reminds me of a chap I'm aquainted with whose been fleeced for many £ thousands in that way...he still maintains he loves her, he's had his electricity cut off, spends all he has left on vodka for breakfast, on the girls and a line of coke. So sad.
