SUPERPOWER
Growing up i watched a plethora of superheroes,
And i was in awe at all of them,
Wonderwoman with her whip,
Spiderman with his webs,
Superman with his flight,
Not to forget the ethereal mermaids.
With everyday that passed,
I hoped and anticipated,
Prayed, yearned and cried,
that, I too, might be blessed with a superpower-
Something that would make me unique
and have others stare in envy.
Something that would inspire the world
and have me live with a sense of security
Oh, how I prayed and hoped!
With every new dawn,
I diligently checked
to see if by some miracle I had woken up with one.
After all, I was told of this big God,
who listened to His children and performed miracles.
Maybe flight, maybe strength
I wasn't picky really.
But alas, to my deep dismay, I had none,
Atleast that's what I believed.
Little did I know,
Knowing you was my superpower
For with knowing you, I knew hope
and with knowing you, I knew love.
So now I sit in comfort and contentment
with the assurance that I can overcome and conquer,
for love conquers all
and love never fails.
