All that I had in mind for me and him in the future,

now in a long but unforgotten past

You are the better version of him

He, who I had no so many hopes for,

promises he never kept

He was a charmer, disarmer, an addict, a better

I bet my dreams on him and lost

 

You are the present day version of him

but I will never tell you

how you embody all those hopes

Promises, you fulfil all those

so effortlessly without even knowing 

 

You are the kinder version of him

Never will I tell you directly, but I think you know

Deep down, I wish you would scream it in my face
