New Year Resolution.

 

After all the Christmas gloating and bloating.

We have a brand-new year fast approaching.

Where we are all asked to make a resolution.

To our good feeling we make a contribution.

 

We know we won't honour our resolutions.

When we make them, we have no intention.

Farcical mind games we play with our self.

We convince our mind, surely it must help.

 

Of Course there will be those who do succeed.

And they can spend the rest of year guilt free.

For the good life they have found the solutions.

Your face they rub with annoying satisfaction.

 

The rest of us will flounder in our own failures.

Uniformly saying not to worry there is next year.

I say why the hell should we all worry about it.

It may be a new year but it's the same old shit.
