If.........

If peotry were a love song

rhythmic passion would bleed through every verse

The evening light gracing on her skin

Timeless beauty of love unbroken

In the stillness

With my arm firmly around her waist

And a gentle caress of my nose along her ear

If poetry were suffering

The clanking of every track

The distruction by every missle

The hum of every drone

The shot of every bullet

Would be the sounds of God no longer caring

As we dig the rubble from our lifeless loved ones

If poetry were forgiveness

We'd learn from our sins

Watching the cruel nature of man wash away

If poetry were hope

It would lead us to higher plains

Placing the wildflowers in the casting rays of the sun upon the window sill

Blessed by every shared memory of our love

But there's more to time
than a rhythm and rhyme (right?)
Does a life well spent
need a friendly hand,
or Enlightenment?

Or is that only true
in Hindi or Urdu?

Cause if poetry's sin
I still have Jesus Christ
and grace without
and within.
