Under the last UK government, of 4,600 child asylum seekers who had arrived in the UK since 2021, 440 had gone so-called “missing” from hotels meant to house asylum seekers; and about out only half of those had returned.
That a government minister responsible for the safety of those chidren should dismiss their disappearance as merely “concerning”, demonstrates a callous disregard for the most vulnerable in British society.
