opposable truths

In the labyrinth of the mind,
opposable truths dance and clash,
each five-letter word a facet of our journey,
each a contradictory force to reckon.

Doubt and faith wrestle in the corridors,
one a mist that blurs the path,
the other a beacon that illuminates the way.
In the shadows, anger flares,
a wildfire burning through serenity,
yet from its ashes, calm often emerges.

Guilt and innocence stand opposed,
one a sentinel of past misdeeds,
the other a breath of freedom.
They vie for dominion over the heart,
each shadowing the other's step.

Grief and joy walk hand in hand,
each step a reminder of love lost,
each tear a testament to memories cherished.
They are companions in the journey,
one amplifying the presence of the other.

Shame and pride duel in the depths,
one a cloak that hides the true self,
the other a light that reveals.
They pull and push, shaping the spirit,
each a mirror reflecting the other's face.

In this dance of opposable truths,
we navigate the path with care,
embracing each contradiction,
finding balance in the tension,
transforming under life's pressure,
becoming whole in the paradox.
