A Snowman Smiled At Me
I wake up with a jolty start
To the beating of my pounding heart
In the air there is an artic chill
A whole day I have now to fill
I draw the curtains here we go
To be greeted by a blanket of snow
The lakeland plans I had today
Have been thrown into disarray
The weather is of course to blame
Oh my that's a sleety shame
Alas all is not completely lost
I shall venture out at any cost
I eat my breakfast by the fire
Then I put on my walking attire
Out I venture into the whiteout
I hear excited voices scream and shout
Children frolicking in the snow
As snowballs come and go
I stride along the crunchy street
As the sky begins to rain sleet
By a snowman I am greeted about to die
He looked me firmly in the eye
I will forever have the memory
A snowman smiled at me
