"Divine Regret"
In the depths of eternity, I breathed life into the void,
A universe born, with stars, planets, and a world employed.
I crafted humanity, with hearts, minds, and souls so bright,
But little did I know, the darkness that would take flight.
I gave them free will, a gift, or so I thought,
But it became a curse, as they chose to be caught.
In webs of greed, power, and lust, they struggled to be free,
And in their quest for more, they lost sight of humanity.
I watched as they destroyed, the beauty I had made,
Their wars, their hate, their fear, a never-ending shade.
I saw the suffering, the pain, the tears, and the strife,
And I wondered, had I made a mistake, in giving them life?
I thought of all the joy, the love, the laughter, and the light,
But it was overshadowed, by the darkness of their night.
I searched for answers, in the cosmos, and in my heart,
But the more I searched, the more I felt, we were worlds apart.
Now, as I look upon, this world I created with love,
I see the flaws, the cracks, the imperfections, sent from above.
I realize, I made a mistake, in giving them so much might,
For in their power, they forgot, the beauty of my light.
But still, I hold on to hope, a glimmer of a spark,
A chance for redemption, a new dawn, a new embark.
For in the darkness, there's still love, still kindness, still light,
A chance for humanity, to make things right.
And so, I'll wait, and watch, and guide, with a gentle hand,
And hope that someday, they'll find, their way back to my land.
For I am God, the creator, the one who made it all,
And I'll keep loving, keep guiding, until they stand tall.
