"Shadows of Abuse"
With every word, a wound is made,
Humiliation's sting, in public display.
Personal space, invaded, boundaries torn,
A soul, laid bare, with heart forlorn.
Criticism's constant drum, beats down the mind,
A fool's errand, with no peace to find.
Thoughts and feelings, dismissed with a wave,
Doubt creeps in, like a thief in the night's cave.
Blame's heavy chains, bind and suffocate,
Sarcasm's venom, injects a toxic hate.
Control's iron grip, chokes every aspect of life,
A prisoner's existence, with no escape to thrive.
But as the abuser weaves, their web of pain,
Their own humanity, slowly starts to wane.
Their heart, once beating, now a cold, hard stone,
Their soul, lost in shadows, forever to atone.
Their actions, a reflection, of their own decay,
A life, consumed by darkness, with no light to sway.
