Cancer touched my love and me
The suffering I could clearly see
The diagnosis was duly unfurled
It went and changed my world 
The time we had was short
She battled and she fought
But it was all to no avail
The treatment it was to fail
Cancer touched me

You hear about it on the news
Everyone has their point of view
It can affect young and old alike
You never know when it will strike
Sometimes it will lie dormant
Then again it will never be conformant

On this day February 4
A reminder not to ignore
That cancer will affect those we cherish
A thought that you should perish
Support is available to help you through
Reach out is what you must do

Cancer may touch you
Be strong is what you must do
It's a battle you must see through
Love and support please give
