Black Shades

BLACK SHADES

By the Urban Poet

Black shades of melancholy

Descend within my brain

Taking over personality

Stealing my good name

Glimmers of hope with chinks of light

Flash through the thoughts of the day

Where blue shades of optomism

Sometimes chase negativity away

It wasn’t always like this

Things used to be so good

It wasn’t always like this

I would change things if I could

A far away place at the back of the mind

Distant and out of reach

I know I want to go there soon

Will there be a beach?

But black shades of melancholy

Descend within my brain

Taking over personality

Stealing my good name
