The tide will turn

We’re all

A little bit

Nuts

Sailing our little boats

In big shoes

To nowhere

In no place

In no time

But carrying on

Regardless

Maybe

What it is to be human

Is to sail

Endlessly

On

And maybe

What it is

To be human

Is to hit the land

Hard

And soft

And carry on

And then

To learn

That it

Isn’t the fault of

The land

Or the sea

And though

We have a

Choice

We have no choice

Not really

So we can carry on

With bitterness

And with vitriol

Or we can carry

On regardless

Or we can carry

On

With hope and

Understanding

And maybe then

The tide

Will turn
