suitcase salik

suitcase salik

on the road again

turban tied, sword on his side

smiling, in the presence of The Friend

in his heart, where love resides

sing canaries, odes of yearning cries

desperate, restless

lullabies

O this fire

burns the bones like forest flames

leaves one crawling, on his elbows

just for a sip, a simple taste

of sweet

tear jerking bliss

everlasting, serene

truth so bold and clear

he's been searching so so long

stumbled, fumbled, lost it all it seemed

only to see

The One behind the veil

was it a dream?

is he awake?

what even is sleep?

what is real or fake?

where is that infatuation

we all try to drown in?

that endless sea

without a shore

who is that One, that will never turn away

despite our faults

our shortcomings

countless

let's take a pen

and try to write down all the times

that we've been blessed

but we'll need all the ink from the starless nights

in fact, even more

you dont think he's tried before?

to love without limits?

falling head over heels

looking into those light hazelnut eyes

trying to find

but he didnt find

not with them

all those fading faces

constant motion

never still, and there

to remain

except He

He Who does not sleep or leave

He Who made and formed us

protects and supports us

sends signs to teach and exhort us

He is The One

for Whom we've swayed and fell in utter awe

and are returing home to

on this road again
