The best way to be

Is unchained from the TV.

Trust me,

There’s nothing gained from watching warring nations

Trade patience for desperation,

Turning lives into numbers through hollow salvation.

The ones who remain,

Fragments of God’s creation,

Won’t find leaders in the ashes of a police station.

Am I making statements? Move over.

There are no leaders—just owners.

Take a proper gander at ears filled with noise,

Eyes that’ve turned our children into soldiers.

The powers that be, tirelessly,

Steal your dreams, your hands, your bonus.

Now, focus.

Be counted. Or start counting.

Don’t keep drowning.

Listen:

Gabriel’s trumpet—can you hear it sounding?
