Robby The Robot (Circa early 1960's)

entry picture

I stared into the window, eyes open wide.

Into then shop, I never dared go inside.

Every day, Robby The Robot I would see.

If only Robby The Robot belonged to me!

I saw pistons in action, lights would whirl.

I looked in awe, as Robby’s arms would twirl.

His head was plastic, a see through dome.

Every day, I longed to take Robby home.

One day I passed the shop, Robby was gone.

I hoped the toy shop, had more than one!

But Robby was never again on display.

From my young eyes, I wiped a tear away.

Robby The Robot was an amazing 1960’stoy.

It was him I wanted most, when I was a boy.
