A Thousand Times and More.

A Thousand Times and More.

I’ve forgiven you a thousand times
Myself a thousand more
These scars do not belong to me
They’ve been cast along the shore

I’ve heard it’s already written
They say true love is destined
We were born with our lover’s name
Carved into our skin

The moon will always
Cast it’s light
On lovers meant to be
But there’s a blind spot in the moonlight

And it’s where I failed to see
The evisceration of emotion
And the slow exfoliation of my own reality
Your love was just a ricocheting moment

Fleeting over the shadows of my mind
Before bouncing back to sea
I was left grasping at the echoes
Of a haunting memory

But I’ve forgiven you a thousand times
Myself a thousand more
These scars do not belong to me
They’ve been cast along the shore.
