Shall We?

Shall We?

Shall we put the kettle on

Shall we make a cup of tea

Would you like to watch our favourite film ~

We could snuggle on our old settee

Shall we light the open fire

Should we scatter cushions on the floor

Should we cuddle up with our smelly dog

And live what our hearts most desire

Can we just have an early night

And read each other poetry

´Til our eyes are heavy and we no longer

Wish to fight the need to sleep

Can we play spoons

While gazing at the moon

Pulling funny faces

And travelling to far out places

I’ll buy tickets to eternity

You don’t have to pay me

But if you insist ~

I’ll settle for a gentle kiss

Shall we play forever more

Just you and me behind closed doors

Until we are ready to go out

And rest beneath the forest floor.
