The Railway Track

entry picture

Sitting alone, beside a railway track.

Circles turn in my head, as I look back.

I had it all in the palm of my hand.

Stolen from me, the life I had panned.

In different directions, those circles spin.

Booming voices taunt me from within.

As I expected, the past is haunting me.

No escape from this torment do I see.

Tonight my life means nothing at all.

The Devil beckons, I can hear his call.

A train roars past, the track does shake.

From this nightmare, I suddenly awake.

Then I realise in Hell it’s just a new day.

To the railway track, I now make my way.

I see familiar trees, many a dark cloud.

As once again I sit, with my head bowed.
