PARENTHOOD

By The Urban Poet

Parenting can be a joy

Whether bringing up a girl or boy

It can also be hard, it is no lie

Especially when you’re sleep deprived

But don’t lose heart and have no fear

It only lasts for twenty five years!

25 Years Later…

And now that 25 years are done

You then begin to have great fun

No, not going out and having a good time

But dropping your grand kids off before nine

At school where there’s always tears

Cos you’ve minded them at your house

For the last five bloody years

Feeding them, changing flaming nappies

Teaching them how to count to ten

Yes that’s right, unfortunately

the process starts all over again!
