Every saturday they gather

the hussle and bussle ever louder

To run round a park of green

To beat the crowd mobscene

 

Far away the others dwell

Away from the merry hell

By a lake, tranluscent and cool

A life giving, nurturing pool

 

Peace and calm linger in silence

No pressure, adrenaline or pretence

Snatching moments when they come

Perhaps a boring 'snoozefest' for some

 

So while you run the park, I'll walk the lake

Not by force, deadlines or mistake

But for peace and calm at this tranquility base

With only solace to be found amongst life's race
