"Cat in the Kitchen" - Satire on the US withrawal from Iraq
We put the cat out of the kitchen
For we saw upon the shelf
That what was on it was priceless
And he just might smash the delph
And we saw in the window the flowerpots
And he jumped in and out
We were afraid he might break the plants
As he gamboled about.
And we saw on the table the food
The best of milk and of meat
You cant have a cat walking on a table
And some of the grub he might eat
So we put the cat out of the kitchen
Each one of us are the man
And while the cat is gone for now
The operation didn't go quite to plan...
Well he jumped on the table where the food was
So we chased him off with a brush
We knocked over the table - the food hit the floor
Such was the terrible rush
And he made to run for the window
The impatient annoying wee thing
Well we missed him but broke the pane of glass
When at him with the brush we made a swing
Well he jumped upon the dresser
So at him we made a charge
And the shelves fell down with all the delph
As after him we did barge
Were sorry about the state of the kitchen
And for causing all the fuss
The cat he is gone for now at least
And the ones who wrecked your kitchen was us!
The US operation in Iraq was like putting a cat out of a kitchen as he may cause damage, and causing more damage themselves in the process. Obamas grand announcement is no solace to those who lost their lives, homes and loved ones in the Iraq Civil War, and who continue to do so to this day

I really enjoyed this Tomas. A good, serious point, made with the help of a beautiful cat cannot go wrong in my book!
