Rub the Smiling Stars

We’re all just loners

Trying to smile,

Most of the time,

Or curling up

On the carpet.

Just a little more

In the sun,

A moment, is that

A glimmer in your eye

Reflecting me?

I stay out of your world

And you stay out of mine,

It’s how the stars get by.

We glow individually.

One day, baby, we’ll

Rub our fat worlds

Together

And really try

To get it right.
