Goodbye bunion, you rotten sod,

And bloody good riddance to you!

Oh, how I long to be better shod

In a much more dainty shoe!

So long bunion, I wish you farewell.

You’ve been nothing but aggro and pain.

For a while your removal will cause hell.

You’re enough to drive me insane!

Farewell bunion, it’s the end for you.

If only you didn’t have a twin.

But with another on the right foot too,

It seems I just can’t win!

Now as I lie in my after-care bed,

I ask is my right bunion vexed?

Does it see my bandaged foot in dread?

Saying, “Yikes! Is it my turn next?”

Yeah baby!  Believe it is true!

Once recovered, you’ll go in a puff.

After all, just one dainty shoe

Will simply not be enough!

Thank you Cynthia. I must have been about 14 when I played a mome rath on our class's performance of the Jabberwocky on the school stage. It was quite fun outgrabing!

Love your humour, and challenging your discomfort into something productive, like a silly poem to keep your spirits up. Once, at fourteen, I had an overnight in hospital with nothing to do, so I memorized The Walrus and the Carpenter from AIW, just for fun.

Thank you Larisa xxx

Ann, thank you for lovely comments, but Isobel has no worries, not with the size of my feet, even without the bunions!! xxx

Mobility scooter, Stef?? Special sandal and crutches more like! Have to admit this poem was written before the pain cut in! The rest and relaxation isn't going amiss though ;) xxx
