Sitting Safe in Ignorance Was the All That I Expected

 

 

            It’s not that I’m not liked,

It’s not my haggard features that once were fair,

What it is I state is collusion in destroying integrity and Truth,

What it is you can’t accept is the life that I have lived,

For it pales your own existence into a nothingness of lies.

 

            The facts are being neglected and all evidence is

Shredded, and no matter how you dress it up my friend –

We sit within society a system of abuse.

 

Is it Paradise Found, or Paradise Lost?

Perhaps you’ll never really know,

Not while sitting safe inside your psyche

You continue in your ignorance;

A defending of position within outdated points of view.

 

            You’ll never understand the victims on Estates,

Where guns and drugs are more accessible than

Careers they say you’ll have,

And the phenomena is out there,

And in here,

But still you’ll deride in blasphemy –

Claim each casualty a fable

Because your courage, and your heart,

Has turned stone to all this suffering.

 

            You’ll never understand

Unless you live the life you cannot comprehend,

And if you do care acknowledge all you keep

Aside in fear, then the nightmare you know –

That is our reality,

Will expose to you these visions

Of ghosts that walk the lands,

And still you will deny,

Until you see the pills in your own

Babes mouth,

And then, you will say,

“I never want to live again.”
