Can Science and Poetry mix?

Traditionally opposed subjects? Or an important meeting of minds? Why do so many scientists also write poetry?

The website of Liverpool University Centre for Poetry and Science looks at the relationship between poetry and science, with new poetry, commentary, essays and interviews with leading poets and scientists. Currently it's Nobel Prize winning chemist Roald Hoffman, whose poetry also reflects his childhood in wartime Poland.

There's live, online poetry workshops with Writer-in-Residence, Maurice Riordan, with results published on the site. See links on this site.
