John Siddique launches Full Blood
Best-selling poet John Siddique is launching his latest book, Full Blood, at Manchester City Library tonight, 5 May, from 6-8 pm.
John read from Full Blood, which is already shifting like hot cakes, at the recent Write Out Loud Big Weekend. Thursday’s launch will include readings from the book, accompanied by Katie Chatburn on cello, conversation with Dr Claire Chambers, senior lecturer in postcolonial literature, plus audience Q and A and book signing.
Warning: Full Blood includes “some highly sensual and erotic content”. Dress code? A touch of red.
John Siddique’s other books include Recital - An Almanac, Poems From A Northern Soul, and The Prize. He is the co-author of the story/memoir Four Fathers. The Prize was nominated for the Forward prize. His children’s book Don’t Wear It On Your Head was shortlisted for the CLPE Poetry Award in 2007. He teaches poetry and creative writing in the UK and abroad, and has worked with the British Council, the Arvon Foundation, the Poetry School and the Poetry Society.
For those unable to get along tomorrow night, you can order John’s book on Amazon or, even better, at your local bookshop - if you’ve still got one.
