Shared Garden
Shared garden
this is my garden
my verdant dream
I sit alone there on a
summer night
drinking my herbal tea
and smoking organic cigarettes
I don't want you to intrude
to cast shade on my well-being
to speak to me
to look at me
to share my space
if I see you there
I will make you leave
if you speak to me
I shall make you leave
if you share my space
it won't be for long
I will use my strength to force
you from my sanctuary
my mighty voice will roar
and silence you
and you can go off running and
crying to anyone who
pretends to care
you can write your letters
and cry on the shoulders of others
you can accuse me
of crimes and misdemeanours
but I will not leave my sanctuary
my slice of heaven

For my obviously major sins in a previous life, I manage Social Housing. This one was inspired many years ago by a neighbour dispute over a shared garden!
