If I ever hurt you,
It's important that you know,
I never ever meant to
and I will love you when I go
To touch your soft skin
to stroke your long dark hair
to smell again your sweet scent
I will remember everywhere
On the hill flying kites,
rolling in the warm wet grass
a summer long with sweet delights
that no other can surpass
once we were lovers warm and true
deep in the velvet bed
we made love and moved so gently in each other
then slept arm in arm and head to head

Hi
@Val I take the point Val and see what you mean but for me the final verse is, well, the finality of lost love and the sweet memories that linger even many years later.
@Banksy Thanks for the comment and I understand perfectly what you mean. That's a rare thing and a memory to treasure, as I do too.
There is an anthology of my work now available to download for free at www.writersout.com/node/1836
Best to you both.
