FUNNY DAY
What a funny day it’s been
With wind and rain and sun
One of those days you know
It’s over before it’s begun.
I went in the garden
To do some weeding
One of the gnomes said
“How Do”
Well I nearly went reeling.
He said the weathers nice
It’s warm and sunny
I looked at him, he looked at me
I thought it rather funny.
I went to get green paint
He needed a new coat
“I don’t like that colour
He said, please take note.
I found myself asking him
What colour would he like
He said I don’t mind
As long as it’s not grasslike.
I think the sun must
Have scorched my brain
Either that or I’m
Going quite insane.
