Bolton becomes bi-monthly

entry picture

Bolton, birthplace of Write Out Loud, is famed for welcoming new and established poets in a supportive atmosphere. This will continue as the regular event moves to a new venue upstairs from the old one at Butterflies – the Gigs Bar where Jefferama runs the fabulously popular Guitar n Verse! & Friday Nite Live! Events.

The night will become bi-monthly with an earlier start time and more features, the next being Sunday 18 September, then Sunday 20 November and so on. The new start will be 7.30, with doors opening at 7.00pm. There will also be more one-off events such as the successful Cadence Festival Write Out Loud stage in Tyldesley.

Poets can use the nights for book launches and there will be guest poets - Anna McCrory (pictured) on 18 September, new comperes (Petrova Fairhurst is doing the honours for the September show), and more spoken word with music. If time at the end of the night, there will music with any musicians who turn up.

These changes were agreed at the last Write Out Loud night where people added their ideas and support. So, get along and support the new Bolton Write Out Loud! If you need any information, please contact Jeff Dawson (Jeffarama!) 07984197175 email - jeffinbolton@yahoo.com.

Just saw this on Facebook, looking forward to it.

It'll be my first poetry thing since I come back from America so I'm looking forward to it.

I'd be happy to get Ben to film if you like n_n
