The 'A' Factor

With my perfect children

And my perfect wife,

I will live a thousand years

With a favoured life.

My past is legend,

Fixed firm in stone.

My future, my millennium,

As yet unknown.

I am cuckoo in human form,

Able to roam,

To spread my wings,

To make wherever home.

I have a vision,

Perfectly sound,

Which I am free

To explore and expound.

I spread the gospel

To those not yet freed,

And live to convert

Those of different creed.

My words resonate

Whenever I speak.

I shelter the ailing,

And seek out the weak.

Highbrow or lowbrow,

Tasteful or kitsch,

Amusement on tap

At the flick of a switch.

The ‘A’ Factor!

Who could want for more?

The show for all times,

The show we all adore.

Seasoned acts and beginners,

Captured in the spotlight,

Battling demons,

Petrified by stagefright.

This year’s opening act?

A global ballroom blitz.

The tour de force?

Tap-dancing at Auschwitz.

Perfect children;

Perfect wife;

Perfect era;

Perfect life.
