there's no time like the present,
what a simple truth and how
such daft notions are the past and future
when there's only ever now

I might have done it yesterday
but can only do today
the things I wanted to do tomorrow
when I looked forward by one day

that still only leaves me with one choice
and that's to get things done
but for things to be done, in that ol' past tense
they have at some point to be doing, so come

see there's only ever now
and that's all there's ever been
all that ever will be and is
and all we've ever seen

the past can be viewed as reconstruct
the future speculate
but the only truth is what is now
the immediate current state

so worry not with what has been
and what might be to come
just get on with what you're doing now
and you'll always get it done
