Emotional Rainbow
What my forebears see, gazing down on me?
Whilst having cake and tea with God
Are they turning their backs on me?
As my love has given another the nod
With all those around me, upon this earth
Connecting old her with me, nobody puts asunder
If they knew what’s afoot they’d deny my birth
Is what I contemplate, a monumental blunder
Has my love for old her fallen away, gone cold?
Frozen deep into the wastelands of my mind
Is this new love an emotional rainbow devoid of gold?
Planted on fallow soil, will its leaves unwind?
My hearts rigging is at breaking point, caught in a gale
The wheel spins wildly to follow the compass bearing
My love is all at sea, my vessel doomed, with barely a sail
The devil then dances in me to my new love, direction unerring
Many a fool has been caught in the crossfire of temptation
Shot, left to die beneath scorching sun by those wronged
Still like a lizard I crawl toward new her, be dammed each nation
Caught by the devil in deep blue sea, lost loves lament prolonged

"Many a fool has been caught in the crossfire of temptation

I like these lines Phil, it was just getting going for me!!!!!
I reckon you can just put 'the riggin is at breakin point' as its fun to place the heart there ourselves
I love the sentiment in this poem Phil
