Manchester Poetry Prize Gala

The inaugural Manchester Poetry Prize, set up by the Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University, attracted over a thousand entries from more than 30 countries. The shortlisted winners, Mike Barlow (from Lancaster), Mandy Coe (from Liverpool), Allison McVety (from Wokingham), Helen Mort (from Cambridge), Lesley Saunders (from Slough) and Rosie Shepped (from London) will be reading alongside distinguished poets Gillian Clarke, Imtiaz Dharker and Carol Ann Duffy at this special Gala event.
The winner of the £10,000 first prize and the Manchester Young Writer of the Year MMU bursary will be announced at the event.
