Flippance is a Goodbye Song
Flippance is a Goodbye Song
Flippance is a goodbye song,
It comes with the yeah yeah yeah’s,
The no no no’s and,
‘Good luck with that,’ they say!
What it actually means is;
I don’t care for you, your opinions
And angle on life,
For it’s too sore a point of controversy,
Too much the truth perhaps and,
‘don’t mind me,’
Don’t mind at all if I ignore
The all you’ve been through
And the all you see through,
I have a life to live and I’ll make
My own mistakes,
‘yeah yeah yeah I will reply,
Too unkind in following other
Peoples pauses and,
It’s horses for courses around
These here parts,
Parts that,
The guru from Niburu
Hastens to its death.
‘Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah’
You’ve heard it all before
A million miles away you’ll say,
Not even far from where you once was
Born still,
No-one likes a smartarse,
Another pitiful comment loaded with
Lie after lie after lie
For in truth, many, many
Carry on the spurious investigation
Of others by belittling their psyche,
Belittling by knowledge they
Feel is the new trend and hey,
No,
No,
No!
You cannot cope with my truth,
So I may as well throw it all away,
No one has learned anything except they’ll
Say,
‘he,’ had it coming’
‘well what did you expect’
There but for the grace of God
And,
‘he’s running up a gob shop!’
What I have tried,
Some will understand,
What I really tried to do
Was wake you from the
Carousel that goes
Around and
Around
And around,
Each spitting the same shit
The same spiel
Following on the trends of make
Believe that you know!
When in essence,
All you’re gauging is whether
Someone says it better,
More conviction,
More grit,
More spit,
More akin to bafta awards
The golden globe
The Oscars…………
…………Poverty is rich with
Its trappings,
War is a forbidden carrot
That only rabbits down warrens of
Swamps dare bite,
For they have little in way of options,
Love can work if you work it through,
Listening is a skill deserved for the wise
And hate,
Is most commonly said,
When flippance becomes a goodbye song!

So true, Mike. It's a good title too, I think.
