Love at First March

It was love at first march

His John Lennon looks and fight

for peace impressed me. Together

we marched our war sharing a banner,

combining our innocent hearts.

Opinions like crunchy solid pebbles

Beneath our naked hippy feet,

The sky was forever pink and rosy then.

He said I was the thinking mans crumpet

Oozing with warm buttery fun and spongy

Security that he found in my arms

I was as pure as chintilly lace.

I proposed and placed a brass ring

On her finger, a ladybird perched on top

I thought it was a perfect way to

Capture the childish innocence I loved.

We made love on Blackpool Beach.

The Sand knitted itself in our cracks

I laugh and laugh when I think of that

So do I, the sweet chuckle of youth

Filling the walls, painting our memories

I love you Rebecca Doolaney.

I love you too.
