Poetically, pulchritudinously, my equal!

entry picture

Sadly, I can’t be at the BARDS poetry in New Brighton, Wirral (Magazine pub, Magazine Row, CH45 1HP) this Monday,10 September. Work commitments, you see …

But now my pal Julie Goodyear has been ejected from the BB house, I’ve asked her to attend instead of me. I think you’ll agree she is my equal in terms of pulchritude and eloquence.

If she can’t make it, well don’t worry; there are plenty of garishly-dressed transvestites in New Brighton to offer compensatory succour.

And anyhow, the very witty Jason T Richardson has kindly agreed to fill my compère’s slot (fnnnaaarr!). He will be helped by regular co-host David Costello.

If you've not been to the Bards before, it's fast-paced, which means that everyone who wants to gets TWO performance slots of 4 minutes each.

So it's like all the poets are guest poets! Starts 8pm. No admission charge, and no set lists – we read in the round.

Sorry I can't be there, folks. But I might send a hologram of myself to read my three new poems – ‘Small, Dolorous Gatherings in Wallasey’, ‘Wrong Choices’ and ‘The Silencing of Mary Poppins'.

THE BARDS – everybody’s talking about us ...

But you need to sample the strange magic for yourselves!
