TOUCH THE RIVER
Scream and fight in the darkness
Take a chance when they blind you with their smiles
Even though it's just madness, you've no choice but to feel that you're on trial
They dissect your emotions, dictate your every move, suppress all signs of rebellion
They ply you with false truth.
Never question the order
As they de-humanise,categorise
Turn out social fodder
Disregarding the questions in your eyes
Pummelled into submission,hearded into blocks
Confirmation is routine
The thinking has to stop.
Touch the river, live a dream
With the cause that you believe
Then they move to break your stance
To tear foundations at a glance
Touch the river, clear the side
Dare to swim against the tide
Undercurrents drag you down
Here come the sharks and social clowns again.
Find a firm postion
Fight the wolves as they snap around your feet
Avoid their mental transition
Or their hold on you will be complete
They find it so easy to erase orginalities
They invent false values
They clone personalities.
Touch the river, live a dream
with the cause that you believe
Then they move to break your stance
To tear foundations at a glance
Touch the river, clear the side
Dare to swim against the tide
Undercurrents drag you down
Here come the sharks and social clowns again.
Scream and fight in the darkness
Take a chance when they blind you with their smiles.

We have some very similar views Tony, and I love the articulation in this piece. It has rhythm without predictability and power in its imagery.
