IN A CHANGING WORLD

I WOULDN’T LIKE TO BET
AGAINST IT.
IS IT TIME TO LOSE 
THE DINOSAUR?
AND CHOOSE THE REFLECTION
I SWEAR I SAW
IN THE ICY EYES OF YOUTH.
WHOSE IMAGINATION
IS FILLED 
WITH PROMISED REGENERATION.
CAN THEY REALLY STAND
THE TRUTH?
FROM THE OLD SCHOOL,
DIPPING INTO EXPERIENCE POOLS
BECAUSE 
THEY’VE SEEN IT ALL BEFORE.
BECAUSE 
THEY’RE GOING TO SEE SOME MORE
FROM THE OLD SCHOOL BRIGADE
BRINGING THEIR TIRADES
FROM THOSE DARK POOLS OF THE PAST
TO MAKE SOME SENSE AT LAST
OF THIS CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER
NOW SHARED WITH STRANGERS
COMING FROM A NEW SCHOOL
ARMED WITH DIFFERENT TOOLS
BUT ARE THEY FRESH ENOUGH
COULD THEY MESH 
WITH OLD SCHOOLING
NO FOOLING
YOUTH ALWAYS THINK THEY KNOW BETTER
AGE BRINGS EXPERIENCE UNFETTERED
BY THE NEED TO PROVE
THEY HAVE THE GRIT
FORGET THE SHIT
SPOONFED TO THE MASSES
LISTEN INSTEAD 
TO THE CLASSES 
LED BY OLD SCHOOL FOOLS
YOU SEE THAT OLD FOOL?
HE’S OLD SCHOOL
BUT HE FOUGHT A WAR FOR YOU
IF YOU ONLY KNEW 
WHAT YOUR LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN
IF THAT OLD SCHOOL FOOL HADN’’T SEEN
THE CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER
THREATENED BY A STRANGER
FROM A STRANGE LAND
THE THREAT NOW COMES FROM CLOSE AT HAND
BY THE HAVES WHO WANT TO KEEP WHAT THEY’VE GOT
LEAVING YOU TO STRUGGLE WITH YOUR LOT
WHILE WHAT YOU HAVE IS HARD TO KEEP
AND IT SLOWLY SEEPS
THROUGH YOUR FINGERS
LEAVING A BITTER TASTE THAT LINGERS
UNTIL YOU BECOME THE OLD FOOL
WITH OLD SCHOOL WAYS
UNTIL YOU DESPAIR 
BECAUSE NO-ONE SEEMS TO CARE
NEW SCHOOL
OR YOUNG FOOL?
OLD SCHOOL
OR OLD FOOL?
IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER.
DREAMS ALREADY SHATTERED
BY THE PAST.
SO LET IT GO AT LAST
SHOW THE WORLD YOU CAN BE COOL
DON’T BE ANYBODYS FOOL
AND SEE THE FUTURE THROUGH
ENLIGHTENED EYES
AND BE THE PERSON WHO
SEES THE WAY AND TRIES
TO CHANGE THINGS
SEES WHAT CHANGE CAN BRING
FOR THE OLD SCHOOL.
