Love, loss, rock and roll, and other four-letter words

entry picture

Write down as many four-letter words as you can in five minutes, and use these to write a poem. Do not add any non-four-letter words. Use your imagination: seek out the more unusual, less obvious, four-letter words!

Interesting poem, Julie. But I can't help feeling it could do with more four-letter words. In fact, according to the rules, the poem should be made up of nothing but four-letter words, as I understand it!

here's my poem:
3 miles of moss...
was enough
the steep wasn't steep as we'd imagined
though neither was the tuna
3 miles of curlews
of curved beaks
of blistered feet
and water courses
3 miles of binoculars
dogs called Holly and Bella
of sandwiches wrapped in foil
3 miles of silence
or paper tissues
of waiting for a bus
3 miles of one foot after another
of taking the escape route
and leaving the next 5 miles
to itself.
