Sunday Thoughts
These are the thoughts I've had today 4th August 2013, written in rhyme so they are more interesting to share. x
So my bank balance is empty,
not enough for even a cup of tea in my chosen cafe,
yet when I look around me,
there is plenty to see.
This old Victorian house which I call home,
so it needs revamping,
subsiding,
but it oozes character and charm,
each room holds my stories,
we have alot of history,
they must be kept private,
or I may blush.
Then into the garden I wander,
well that's full of intrigue and beauty,
flowers in full bloom all planted by me,
fairies stratigically placed,
ready to pounce on you,
if you step out of place,
bird baths and feeders hanging in the conifer,
it's a writer's paradise,
if only I will see.
Grey collered doves,
not the pure white kind,
but I'm happy with them,
perfection,
not my thing you see,
chaffinches, tits, sparrows for all our visitors to see,
not forgetting playful squirrels runing up a cherry tree,
today a new visitor called splendid he was,
a sable butterfly sitting comfortably on my washing,
in all his glory I instantly adored.
One mum who spoils me,
a handsome son who is healthy,
my two ageing girls Bonnie and Kitty,
they all mean so much to me.
I've been blinded by lost loves,
triangular relationships,
when on this fine Sunday,
I realised ,
I have everything,
right at home that is precious to me.
Happy birthday Leslie Speed .
