I take an early morning stroll along the prom,
In the twilight hour as the birds burst into song,
My lungs take their fill of the clean fresh sea air,
As the sun begins to rise in a welcoming sky,
My mood is relaxed and I don’t have a care,
I cast my glance across the expansive bay,
The Lakeland hills give me inspiration,
At the breaking of a brand new day,
The years they have flown by so fast,
But my residency here looks set to last,
It may be just a little seaside town,
But you can be sure of a warm welcome,
A friendly smile and rarely a frown,
When the day is all but done,
I raise my eyes to a reddened horizon,
As the flowing tide rushes to the shore
I experience a spectacular sunset to die for.
