The Biggest Word I Know
The Biggest Word I Know
These rules govern ‘they say,’
And only paper substance and brass –
Shiny bits of metal,
Control to a point
Regarded as expressionless,
For we have lost something valuable
While entertaining value
For gain of wealth,
And it’s only a five letter word
On the tips of most people’s minds
And blind,
Be the many who forgo
Our fellow man for the taking
Of a purse.
Our indiscretion –
Failing third world countries
Of poverty, be all down to
Mathematics,
But we could all,
Could all have bread
And meat upon the table
If we shared,
And,
The most powerful word I know, is no;
A constant rebuke the poor man
Hears too often while
Trying to feed his family;
As war ravages – bought and paid for
With a sound and insincere hollow yes!
The least significant word I know; is money,
But people die for it,
Treasure it, hoard it
And abuse it;
As it diminishes
All responsibility - for The Earth.
But the biggest word I know,
The word missing
From all of the above,
The word we wish for
But is never there upon
A globe where markets dictate
An awkward ebb and flow of life;
Be Love!
If we loved
As much as turned
Our wallets and our purse,
We could,
We could,
Deny the striding blindly
To our glory goals of avarice and greed,
Open up our hearts,
(that still beat - as dormant as they’ve become),
And Feed the World.
