Never See A Nipple...
(with apologies to John Cooper Clarke)
Beheadings are acceptable, boobs are bad
the female form’s fantastic but only when it’s clad
we’re blasé about bullying, laissez-faire on lust
but our patriarch goes postal if the news feed shows a bust
sign on, log in, no matter where you look
you’ll never see a nipple on facebook.
We’ve made a Faustian pact with our morals as collateral
pictures of breastfeeding? Ugh. Not natural.
You can stick your outrage, stuff your clamour, we
refuse to rehabilitate the mammary
sign on, log in, no matter where you look
you’ll never see a nipple on facebook.
We take no sides when it comes to mutilation
but we’re taking the tit out of titillation
we don’t care if it’s your mother, your girlfriend or your nan
topless is taboo (it doesn’t count if you’re a man)
accuse us of hypocrisy, the decision that we took
is that you’ll never see a nipple on facebook.
Understand that we know best
we’ve ads for breast enhancement but - no breasts
it’s a crazy world where our policy makes sense
where execution passes censorship, but to suckle gives offence
sign on, log in, no matter where you look
you’ll never see a nipple on
never see a nipple on
never see a nipple on facebook.

Thanks, Cynthia. Glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit nervous about tampering with a John Cooper Clarke poem, but when would I ever have a better reason? ;-)
