THE WRAITH
THE WRAITH
We met on a cold and stormy day
The words were mute, they were taken away
The howling wind blowing wild through the trees
The breath from our mouths deceived with ease
I felt a dread as we met in stealth
You didn't ask for gifts or wealth
Your goals were set in insidious ways
Not even a glint in your eye to betray
You crept into my life like an assassins wraith
Attacking in shadows, you needed no faith
Your weapon, a glint of steel in the breeze
You, the master of death, dispensing with ease
I never felt, on that tearful day
The wind on my face from the sky dull and grey
My card was marked with blood, as ink
To the depths of despair and the desolate brink
You stole my soul like a thief in the night
My back was against you, no way I could fight
So swiftly despatched and sent on my way
No more to return, nothing more could I say.
