Ringing in the new Write Out Loud at Middleton tonight

entry picture

The revamped Write Out Middleton with new host Norman Warwick meets at the Ring O’ Bells, St Leonards Square, Middleton, on Sunday 5 January at 7pm. The Ring O'Bells is opposite the 900-year-old St. Leonard's parish church, which contains  the UK's oldest war memorial, remembering Flodden Field, no less.

The room has hosted grassroots performances for decades, first as one of the best northern clubs of the 60s/70s folk revival - one of Mike Harding's favourite haunts - and more recently with Write Out Loud's grassroots poetry, of the people, by the people.

The new nights will include "meet the writer" sessions and other new and exciting features and include all the poets Gemma Lees made so welcome while she hosted the event. It will attract new and established writers from around the borough and beyond.  Entry is a £2 donation to this open mic event. More details and Map
