Daljit Nagra is leading the judging panel for the £500 Wenlock poetry festival competition. The deadline is 17 March. Nagra said he was looking for poems “that come in any forms and sizes, that are comic or serious, that are sure of themselves or that have no idea what they’re about. What I am essentially looking for is a poem that will excite, shock, surprise or humour me. The best way to achieve one or more of these effects is by ensuring the poem is well crafted.” Winners will be notified in advance and invited to a reading of all winning poems held on Saturday 26 April 2014 as part of the Festival programme.
